Visual Studio Code v1.60.0 System Requirements

  • Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows8.1, Windows 7
  • ARM64 processor or 1.8 GHz or faster x64 processor (quad-core or better recommended). ARM32 processors cannot be supported.
  • Minimum 4 GB RAM. Many factors impact the resources used; we recommend 16 GB RAM for typical professional solutions.
  • Windows 365: Minimum two vCPUs, minimum eight GB RAM. Recommended: 4 vCPUs and 16 GB RAM.
  • Hard disk space: Minimum 850 MB to maximum 210 GB, depending on the features installed. Most installations need 20-50 GB. To increase performance, we recommend that Windows and Visual Studio be installed on a solid state drive (SSD).
  • Video card that supports a minimum display resolution of WXGA (1366 by 768); Visual Studio will work best at a resolution of 1920 by 1080 or higher.
