Google permanently banned hundreds of users for spamming emotions on Markipiler stream
4 days ago Markipiler was streaming on his channel and at one point he asked users to vote with their emotions for one of the proposed options. Users started voting and some simply started spamming with emotes (5 or more emotes). After some time (15 minutes or more), users who spammed emotions in the chat noticed that their accounts were banned.
And the problem would not have been a problem if not for one thing – it was not YouTube accounts that were banned, but entire Google accounts – GMail, Google Drive, Google Play, YouTube, etc.d. Without warnings or strikes, the accounts of hundreds of users were automatically blocked permanently.
In his video dedicated to this www.casino666.uk problem (I personally find it funny to read about YouTube’s problems in the singular, it’s like Fallout 76 from Google or Fallout 76 is YouTube from Bethesda) he gave examples of spam with emotions.
On November 9, Mark sent his video via Twitter to the YouTube team, since banned users were denied consideration of their complaint for unfounded blocking, saying “Your appeal has been carefully considered and your appeal has been rejected.”! This simple and stupid automatic response came to users when they themselves were interested in why their accounts were blocked.
And the answer was given! The response was “Thank you Mark for bringing this issue to our attention.”! We apologize for this incident, we have begun to restore accounts and now we are starting to find out why users were denied an appeal and how we can prevent this from happening in the future!».
Mark, of course, still had questions, which he asked. Namely: Where are the guarantees that this situation will not happen again in the future?? Why were these users banned so quickly?? Why were entire Google accounts banned??
This whole story says once again that YouTube is Google’s Fallout 76, but on a much larger scale, and that YouTube has serious problems, especially in their system. Also, this incident is a shot in the foot of oneself, or rather a shot in the foot of the streamer platform YouTube Gaming, since now the question arises – why comment on anything in a chat on YouTube if there is a risk of losing your entire Google account? For now, we can only say one thing: spamming emotions in YouTube chat is now not only impossible, but also dangerous for your Google account.
BUT as they say, “The sheriff doesn’t care about the problems of the Indians,” which in the current situation can be reformulated as “The monopolist doesn’t care about the problems of the users.”.
